The 2015 Summer Arts Weekend features free events in Boston.

This year, the fest will feature exceptional local talent as well as award-winning artists from across America, providing you and your family with a weekend of memories as well all the best that Boston has to offer.

The Boston Summer Arts Weekend will be held at Copley Square July 25-26. You can make plans to relax and enjoy a whole weekend of free performances. You could bring a lawn chair or a blanket and simply sit on the grass and enjoy a picnic lunch. You could also sample the fare from one of the many vendors or nearby restaurants. Whatever you want, it’s your weekend to unwind and take in the sights and sounds of Boston.

Summer Arts Weekend

This year, the Boston Summer Arts Weekend is slated to serve up acts from a variety of artists from a wide spectrum of the performing arts. It will have music performances for almost every taste, including New Orleans-style jazz, classical, country, R&B, fiddlers and folk singers. For the kid in all of us, there will be a wide variety of kid-centric offerings by magicians, musicians and poets. You may even see a puppeteer. Be sure to check the schedule of events so that you can see all the ways you or your family can make the most of your weekend in Boston and plan accordingly.

The Residence Inn Boston Back Bay – Fenway is just a short distance from Copley Square, so when the festivities wind down for the evening, you can rest and feel right at home in one of our suites as you get ready for the next day’s events.

Boston's Run to Home Base Set for July 25

Run and walk through the streets of Boston and finish up at Fenway Park

One of the most heartwarming and fun events in the Hub will once again take place on July 25 with a veterans fundraising race that Boston has come to adopt with plenty of vigor. The Run to Home Base begins in the streets of Boston before concluding at home plate in the iconic Fenway Park.

This nine-mile run or two-mile walk, depending on your interest, will not only help benefit the Boston Red Sox Foundation but also give a boost to the Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program.

The Home Base Program was set up to aid the returning troops from Afghanistan and Iraq who have struggled to reintegrate themselves into society. The toll it's taken on them is reflected in the struggles their families have endured. The money raised by the organization is helping to make sure that their sacrifice isn't forgotten.

This is a charity event Boston and all of New England truly puts its heart into every year. This means that you not only have the opportunity to engage in a healthy endeavor, but you can do a great deal to help our brave warriors who have kept us safe.

If you're coming in from outside the area, we invite you to stay with us at the Residence Inn Boston Back Bay. We're conveniently located in the heart of the city and just steps away from Fenway Park. Our hotels offers suites with full kitchens, free wireless Internet access, a free daily breakfast buffet and a heated indoor rooftop pool.

James Taylor Plays Fenway Park For the First Time

James Taylor rocks at one of Boston's most anticipated events this summer.

Not many rock 'n' roll legends have amassed the hits and fans as Hall of Famer James Taylor. The guitarist has played in amphitheaters and stadiums all over the world, but for the first time ever, he is bringing his all-star band to meet the Green Monster in Fenway Park with very special guest Bonnie Raitt. Make plans to see these two legendary performers at Fenway Park and help show your support for the Boston Red Sox. As a proud Red Sox fan himself, James Taylor witnessed the winning of the World Series in 2004 and is happy to be performing a song written especially about this historic win at Fenway Park.
